Day 672 - Our Super Bowl Village Saga

Tonight, I went to Super Bowl Village with Bridget, Dan, and Jim. We had dinner at the City Market, which was busy, but not crowded. After finishing our tasty meal, we headed to Monument Circle to get the necessary photos with the GIANT Super Bowl Roman numerals. While heading to Georgia Street (the epicenter of action), we ran into Jim's brother and then found his sister, too. How fun! After making it to Georgia Street, the boys had to make a pit stop. Bridget and I were going to meet them under a sign to give them a marker of where we'd be, but had to move since things were getting really, really crowded. Then we lost them. The cell phone towers were overloaded, so you couldn't make calls. It was insane! So, Bridget and I did our own thing. We headed down to St. John's to see what they were doing there. We chatted with Fr. Rick and saw the cut outs of the nun, priest, and Pope that you could put your face in for a photo. We saw the zipline in action, then headed toward the Verizon stage to see LMFAO. Then, things started getting crazy. We ran into friends Jon and Stephen, then moved forward to try and get closer to the Verizon stage for the LMFAO concert that was starting. It was like being born again - we were so slammed up against each other! Thank goodness BK and I don't care about personal space or holding hands to stay together. We'd have lost each other for sure, which would have sent both of us into a state of panic. I'm happy to say that even after another big attempt to meet up with the boys (and failing), we both made it out alive. Victory!

Dan, the sweet man that he is, picked me up from work and took me to Taste for lunch. I wish I could say I loved what I ate, but it was just okay. The dressing on a salad can really screw things up. I have the sweeeetest loaner car right now. It's a chocolate brown Jetta and it's fully loaded. It was a nice little bonus on today's odd but overall good day. I'm having a good hair day. I made two new friends tonight while at the City Market for the Mustache Movember Party with Dan. I ordered a Pic Nic crepe from 3 Days in Paris (via zip line - awesome!). A yummy chocolate + raspberry one was given to me, though. When I zip lined a message to the stand, they brought the correct one up to me (chicken, bbq sauce, cilantro, jack cheese, red onions) AND a voucher for a free crepe for my next visit. WOW, three for one! I'm so happy it's the weekend. :)

Last night, Dan and I had the opportunity to sit in the super awesome VIP section at the Vogue for Rev. Peyton's Big Damn Band concert. I really liked it, but Dan, he loved it! I had fun sitting with a few friends from church (my connection to the band) and trying to figure out what the heck Josh (Rev. Peyton) was saying/singing. :oP

Then, this afternoon, Dan and I headed over to Good Morning Mama's Cafe in Broad Ripple. Wow oh wow the Mexican breakfast tacos are tasty! It was the perfect amount of food for me. Plus, the whole restaurant is brightly decorated with a heavy 1950s vibe. I'm sure that made me like it even more. :)

Woo hoo, another milestone! Six hundred days of blogging!

In preparation for Thanksgiving, I decided it was time to share more baking goodness with you...my 3 readers.

Here's what I've got for you: lasagna! I made one tonight for tomorrow night's dinner (but didn't bake it yet). I can't include a link to the recipe, because I don't like any of them enough. I am one that appreciates a good meat to pasta to cheese ratio. I think I've pretty much perfected it (for my taste buds at least). If you'd like to have the details, just leave me a comment and I'll get them to you.

Basically, it includes the following yummy ingredients: italian sausage, lasagna noodles, fresh garlic, parmesan and mozzarella cheeses, freshly ground salt, freshly ground pepper, freshly ground italian herbs/spices, eggs, cottage cheese, a jar of pasta sauce, and love. Haha, of course I had to say something cheesy!

Photos are from when I made the Pioneer Woman's "Best Lasagna Ever." I liked it, and it's what I basically use for my own version. The only big changes are using a jar of sauce instead of making my own (I ended up with too much sauce + time to make it and simmer) and using only sausage (sausage + beef = too much meat). Needless to say, I'm excited to eat this bad boy tomorrow night!

Thanksgiving...a time to give thanks. It's been a roller coaster kind of year, but I've ended up in a positive place. :) Some people moved out of my life, and some new ones have been introduced. I always struggle with this part, since I want to be friends with everyone forever. Who doesn't want to be surrounded by awesome people? Well, life just doesn't work that way.

I left a job, started another, left that job, started another, and am sticking to this one. I'm happy to wake up in the morning and not dread work. Happy to have a wonderful family and friends that rock my socks off. Also, pretty happy about this lovely little slice of Chocolate Raspberry Truffle cheesecake sitting in front of me. Nom! There are a ton of other things I could add to the list, but really, the people in your life are what matter most!

Andy's in town, it's Ginger's birthday, and I got to spend the night with both of them + a bunch of fun people! I love family + friend get togethers. :)

I'm starting to get back into a schedule, yay! It's frustrating not being able to get to everything each day, but that's just the way life goes. :\ Also, I'm not a huge fan of it being pitch black dark on my way home, but I suppose it's fine that I can't see the gray skies outside. Save the sunshine and long days for prettier landscapes. :)

Happy Birthday to my dear ol' DAD! He's such a swell guy. :)

Tonight, I'll be learning all about the new Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas cruise ship at an after work event at the Keystone Art Cinema. Sometimes, I wish I had a second home (probably an awesome apartment) on the north side.

Three words have made an impact on my life: "Action crushes fear." A pretty simple and yet perplexing thought. I think it makes sense, though. If you're afraid to talk to someone about subject ABC, the more you put it off, the more you allow yourself to think about it and freak out, the bigger it becomes. If you deal with something ASAP, then it doesn't have time to fester and become something (seemingly) unbearable. Sometimes life is complicated and scary. However, you have to remember that 99.9% of us are a lot stronger than we give ourselves credit for. I've done a few things in recent history that were seemingly scary (for me). I can tell you with 100% certainty that I'm happy I tackled them when I did. My life is better for it! Don't push yourselves into something you're not ready for, just don't procrastinate once you are ready. Be bold! Be brave! Have fun! :)

Yay for life! :D

Dan and I went to the new Indianapolis California Pizza Kitchen. Now, I have been to CPK in Seattle and Sacramento before, so I had high hopes. They didn't disappoint! The Original BBQ Chicken Pizza + Applewood Smoked Bacon was fantastic. Dan had a Bass in a bottle and I had a super tasty (and pretty) Raspberry Lemondrop Martini. Hey, we had to celebrate week one of my new job! I can't wait to go back and try other options. :)

Today, I sat at work learning all about Hawai'i and all of the different Sandals, Beaches, and Grand Pineapple resorts in the Caribbean. Too bad I don't get to visit them and do some work "research," haha! :oP
